PB Los Angeles: Open House & Free Maschine Workshop, March 12 w/ Kooli (NI)

After a hugely successful session with Low End Theory’s Daddy Kev last month, we’ll be hosting another exclusive Open House event on Saturday March 12 at our Point Blank Los Angeles school. This time, we’ll be welcoming Native Instruments US Product Specialist Kooli, real name Brian Kullas, for a masterclass focusing on using Maschine within different DAWs. For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of visiting our LA school, the Open House is the ideal opportunity to check out the brand new kit and meet our instructors including Computo (Flying Lotus, Zedd, A-Trak), Sweatson Klank and Bon Harris (Nitzer Ebb, Smashing Pumpkins). Register for your FREE tickets here.

The event will start at 12:00pm at Mack Sennett Studios, 1215 Bates Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90029. Tickets are free and available to the general public – grab your FREE ticket here.

To kick things off, you’ll get to meet our expert instructor team, with introductions from Computo (Flying Lotus, A-Trak, Zedd), Bon Harris (Nitzer Ebb, Smashing Pumpkins) and Sweatson Klank (Project: Mooncircle). They’ll give you insight into their industry experience and crucial information on the courses students will potentially be studying.

Next up, we’ll hand things over to Native Instruments US Product Specialist Kooli. He’s a classically trained musician who started playing piano at the age of six. Born and educated in Connecticut, Brian attended private schools where his musical accomplishments and hard work led to his receiving scholarship awards from five competitive college music programs. He studied at Dickinson College to pursue a traditional music degree in performance and composition. He soon discovered that his real passion was electronic music production and DJing.

After becoming one of the lead Traktor Instructors in NYC, Kooli moved to Los Angeles to become the Lead US Product Specialist of Native Instruments. He has also tour managed for some of the top DJs performing in the New York area including A-Trak, Danny Tenaglia, Victor Calderone, and Nicole Moudaber (who studied at Point Blank, no less!). He also spent several weeks as a spokesperson for Native Instruments on the Richie Hawtin CNTRL Tour, which Point Blank was an official part of.

To round things off nicely, US Course Advisor Hart Thorson will give a guided tour of PBLA so you can see the production stations for yourself. If attendees have any questions about courses, they can ask the instructors directly and get all the information they need.

Every production station at PBLA comes with NI’s Komplete Kontrol S-Series keyboard, Ableton Push, AIAIAI TMA-1 Studio Headphones and Maschine plus more
