Point Blank Los Angeles & NAMM 2016: Trip Wrap-Up

Two weeks ago, a few lucky members of the UK Point Blank team headed across the pond to catch up with the Point Blank Los Angeles team and check out the latest and greatest new equipment at NAMM 2016. What better way to show you what went down than with a mini-photo diary of the trip!

IMG_1794As a new day dawned in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, we prepared to venture out for a busy first day of meetings with the PBLA team

Taking in the sights en route to the school, which included a whitewashed building and palm trees – obviously!

IMG_1784PBLA Instructor Bon Harris had brought along some extra goodies for PBLA students classroom, including modular units from TipTop Audio and Roland’s recent Boutique JX-03

On day two of the trip we experienced the latest music technology that manufacturers had to offer, including offerings from Moog, Dave Smith Instruments, Arturia, Pioneer and many more:

IMG_1806 Moog’s space at NAMM was definitely a contender for one of the quirkiest of the exhibition

IMG_1819We were lucky enough to sample plenty of new gear at NAMM, including Dave Smith Instruments’ new polyphonic analog OB-6 synth, Arturia’s MatrixBrute and Pioneer’s updated NXS2 kit

IMG_1822We also encountered some of the classic kit, including this rare UA 610 console

IMG_1791We also managed to sample some life outside of the musical world, including a hockey game with the Anaheim Ducks! Sadly no fighting ensued
