Based in London, Italian-born Valentino Sciacca is currently studying the Music Production & Sound Engineering Diploma by day and building his DJ profile by night. Perhaps you’ve caught him holding court at one of East London’s smaller venues, playing a distinctive mix of underground sounds drawing from minimal techno, dub and the more obscure side of deep house. Inspired by a constellation of artists, including tINI, Loco Dice, Ricardo Villalobos and Sven Vath, his mix for Pioneer DJ Radio sees him mine a deep seam of twisted basement music.
In the midst of his studies in London, he praises the impact the teaching at Point Blank has had on his sound so far. “I’m really enjoying the sound designer course, all my productions get the unique sound which I needed and that no one has,” he explains. “Another course I enjoyed was the Intro to Music Production with Logic Pro. I discovered a lot of new functions in Logic that I did know before.” Valentino S is currently working on an EP, due to be released next month. Stay in the know by following his Soundcloud.
