Point Blank’s 2013 Round-up

Well, it’s almost time to close the book on another year and what a year it’s been. If you haven’t already been catching up with the year that was 2013, make sure you check out our top 5 lists we’ve been publishing over the past few days including our favourite Ableton Live tutorials, Logic tips and Friday Forum Live broadcasts. Outside the PB walls though, it’s been an amazing year for us and for the music industry as a whole with incredible albums, EPs, tracks, gigs and events to keep us busy and inspired right up to the Christmas break. We were lucky enough to travel around Europe and beyond to visit and cover some of the biggest electronic music events of the year and you can read our report here.

Another undeniable highlight of 2013 was the Academy of Electronic Music. Not only did we take in seven finalists, give them a crash course in EMC, introduce them to some of the biggest acts in electronic music for one-to-one Q&As and provide them with expert industry insight, we had the pleasure of seeing our graduates move on to have their tracks released on the legendary Armada Music. If you STILL don’t know what the Academy is and was, visit the official website here and re-watch all the hangouts on our YouTube playlist.

If you’re a keen follower of PB+ you’ll already know through our PB Profiles that many of our staff and tutors are heavily involved in the music scene inside and outside of the city we call our home. With all the music, parties and experiences we’ve been lucky enough to enjoy, we gathered up our staff picks for 2013 to recap on an amazing year. See you on the other side and don’t forget, our online courses start on January 9th so it’s the perfect time to take a look and treat yourself to a place at our award-winning school.
