As a DJ today in the age of internet radio and podcast series’, putting out recorded mixes is as important as playing gigs in furthering your career. With this in mind, we have secured three regular guest slots at a variety of respected institutions, so your skills can be heard in any corner of the world. With a total of four programmes per month across three platforms, they are a recurring chance for you to reach a massive audience – Deep House Amsterdam’s podcast series garners over 2 million plays each month, Magnetic Mag have over 100k followers across their socials platforms and Pioneer DJ Radio, being a subsidiary of the world’s biggest DJ company, carry a clout few platforms can compete with. For the chance to have your mixes played in these illustrious places, and to receive the guidance you need to make the grade, check out our DJ courses in London, LA, Ibiza and Mumbai.
Deep House Amsterdam
Deep House Amsterdam is an influential music magazine based out of – you guessed it – Amsterdam, widely considered to be the new clubbing capital of Europe. Point Blank’s guest slots will sit alongside those by artists as big as Space Dimension Controller, Felix da Housecat, Fritz Kalkbrenner and François K. Check out the mix below by Paradoks which was featured on the series.
DHA’s industry props are clear from first glance, but for an idea of the kind of reach and backing a winning mix will receive, we can tell you they have over 435k followers on SoundCloud, which in turn equates to over 2 Million plays each month. Through Facebook, there are another 170k followers and the website is visited by over 200k people each month. Combine that with Point Blank’s 700k+ followers on Facebook and you get an idea just how much potential there is with this mix series.
Pioneer DJ Radio
Our longest-running guest slot is with Pioneer DJ Radio. This opportunity gives our students the chance to get their mixes played alongside the likes of top artists like Claptone, Eats Everything and Claude VonStroke (who has studied with PB in the past). PDJR also boasts shows from some of the biggest and best labels including Systematic Recordings, Compost Black and Defected, so you never know who might be tuning into your mix.
Magnetic Magazine is the brainchild of the team that produced BPM Magazine, and is committed to covering all aspects of electronic music culture and everything it entails. In addition to Point Blank’s own channels which reach an excess of 1m followers, Magnetic Magazine is respected the world over and reaches 33k+ on Instagram, 61k+ on Facebook and 22k+ on Twitter. All of which guarantees that these mixes are given the exposure you need to really push your DJ skills. This is the first of a new monthly series and we want your mixes for submission!
If you would like to be considered for any of these series, all you need to do is record a one-hour mix and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org, stating which platform you feel is the right fit.
