As more and more producers work in the box and as technology and production tools improve, it’s possible to almost completely produce a track at home. But without the right acoustic treatment and those special high-end bits of kit and plugins, that final 20% of the mix – the difference between a pro and amateur-sounding song – can be hard to reach.
