New York born and bred, Wendy ‘EscoDisco’ Escobar is a respected house DJ, songwriter, lyricist and music supervisor. Having started her career in the enviable position of Music and Talent intern at MTV, she gradually gravitated towards the more rarefied world of underground house, with bookings across London, Miami and Detroit – including high profile gigs for Art Basel and Movement. In autumn 2015, she crossed to the pond to study Music Composition at Point Blank London as a means to augment her DJing, songwriting and production skills. “I learned a plethora techniques to extend, develop, and manipulate my innovative musical ideas and turn them into compositions,” she says of her time studying with instructor Phil Ramocon. “I was also able to find my strength within songwriting – lyrics – and collaborate with students and staff at Point Blank. This has given me the confidence to work with artists outside of Point Blank since, and begin work on my own demo.”
