We’ve partnered once again with Beatport to bring you the second in the series of a brand new producer competition. The lucky winner of the ‘Beats in School’ competition will land a one-year mentorship from top industry organisations, an official release with a label that best fits their sound and hardware mentoring from a list of product leaders including ADAM Audio, Roland, Korg and more. As an official partner, Point Blank will be providing the winner with a comprehensive production course to assist in establishing the Beats in School winner within the industry. Learn more about the competition at www.beatport.com/beatsinschool.
In this video, Point Blank expert instructor Mike Koglin shows you how to make a track in Ableton for the Anjunabeats competition using a sample pack from Beatport Sounds. There are two sections to the video, for beginners and intermediates. Mike introduces Ableton as a DAW, showing you how to browse and import sounds before going into more detail and sharing tips on how to develop your track to make sure it sounds its best. Mike Koglin teaches music production as part of a module included within our online BA (Hons) Music Production & Sound Engineering Degree.
If you want to gear up for the competition, learn recording, engineering and mixing techniques as well as dive into DJing and even master the music business, our online BA (Hons) Music Production & Sound Engineering Degree covers all this and more, and we additionally have a wide range of online courses for those not looking for accreditation.
