After over a month of delving into a variety of track submissions from a spectrum of genres and producers, we’re excited to announce the winners of our Point Blank x Accusonus beatmaking competition! Congratulations to Notorious Lynch, Techno By Butcher & Zen-T Project.
Due to all the fantastic entries, it wasn’t an easy decision to make. Judging on originality, songwriting, arrangement, mixdown and Plugged In votes, we managed to whittle it down to our top three and decide who to award one of our Online Courses to, as well as the handy beatmaking bundle featuring Accusonus’ Beatformer & Regroover plugins. So, without further ado, jump into the three tracks we felt were the worthy winners and if you’re looking to brush up on your production techniques, why not enrol on a Point Blank Online Course yourself?
Notorious Lynch – ‘Sigo Buscando’ (Winner)
San Diego-based Stephen Lynch A.K.A. Notorious Lynch was crowned the winner of our competition with his rolling rework of Christian Alvarez & Richard Earnshaw’s 2005 anthem ‘Buscando’. This one’s packed with shuffling grooves, jazzy instruments and atmosphere and it’s perfect for the club.
Techno By Butcher – ‘Generationbazz’ (Runner Up)
‘Generationbazz’ from Techno By Butcher is a dark and minimal powerhouse which fuses ambient sounds with fragmented percussion and deep sub bass. The German DJ and Producer has plenty of tracks and mixes on SoundCloud, so make sure you check them out.
Zen-T Project – ‘Sphongel’ (Runner Up)
Zen-T Project‘s submission for the Point Blank x Accusonus competition is an evolving experimental journey which sees the producer combine arps, low-fi drum hits and ambient bells into a woozy beat.
Whether it’s your music productions or mixes, at Point Blank we love to listen to what you’ve been working on, so make sure you keep an eye on our socials for our next competition announcement. If you’d like to brush up on your music production or DJing skills, we offer courses in London, Los Angeles, Ibiza, Mumbai and Online.
