Studying in London with Point Blank gives students unrivalled access to hugely experienced personnel within the music industry to complement their studies. For example our Music Business course content has been developed by seasoned professionals such as Keith Harris OBE (Stevie Wonder), but industry guests also regularly come in to give exclusive sessions to our students, as well as invaluable Q&A time and the opportunity to connect for future opportunities. Our most recent guests were Greg Brimson (David Bowie, Radiohead, U2) and Leddra Chapman (BBC Radio 2, London College of Music), who is also now a Music Business instructor at our school in London.
If you’re looking to forge a successful career within the music industry, you should study Music Business as part of our Complete Master Diploma. Highly established engineer and producer Greg Brimson (Blur, Lenny Kravitz, Seal) gave an intimiate masterclass session to our London students back in December
After a successful time as a touring and recording session drummer, scoring top 20 hits and touring with established acts, Greg Brimson followed his passion to work in the studio as an engineer/producer. In his first year, he scored a #1 album with The Levellers and decided at that point to gravitate toward producing. He’s worked with huge artists including Eminem, Bush, Natalie Imbruglia, Paradise Lost, and worked alongside some of the world’s best producers as a programmer, remixer and mixer.
Greg Brimson has worked with the likes of David Bowie (pictured above), Radiohead and U2 (both pictured below)
Greg ran his own label at Universal, as well as co-owning a music IT company which was responsible for delivering fresh promos to the biggest record and publishing labels. He also produced two charity compilations for Tibet and Somalia respectively, where he worked with David Bowie, U2, Radiohead, Paul Weller, Blur, Seal and Lenny Kravitz. He had a huge wealth of experience which he was able to share with our students.
Singer-songwriter Leddra Chapman (BBC Radio 2, London College of Music) was also on hand to impart her wisdom, and she’s now a Music Business instructor at Point Blank London
Leddra Chapman first started getting noticed when her debut single ‘Story’ received strong radio support from Terry Wogan in his last months at BBC Radio 2. Leddra was a student at London College of Music, and is an ambassador for clothing company Quiksilver and The Body Shop. Her single ‘All About You’, from her second EP ‘The Crowds and Cocktails’, was BBC Radio 2’s single of the week in 2013, and was later added to the station’s B List. Similar to Greg, Leddra had very many valuable insights to offer when she came to speak to our London students.
