It’s official! We’ve launched PBLA, and we like to think we did it in style. In case you’ve been living under a rock recently and haven’t seen all of the activities we’ve been busy with in LA, we’ve put together a short and sweet overview of what went down. Find out more about our courses in LA here, and scroll below to see the likes of Sweatson Klank and Mark De Clive-Lowe providing masterclasses, and you might even spot Elton John and Nile Rodgers if you look carefully…
Our ‘Business Behind the Music’ panel featured PBLA Head of School Jesse Rogg, Passion Pit’s Ian Hultquist, Iamsound Records’ Paul Tao and Wade Metzler from SoundExchange
Taking place at the historic Mack Sennett Studios, the launch was attended by some of Los Angeles’ coolest and most influential figures, alongside eager youngsters wanting to find out what PBLA is all about during studio tours. On the day, we had an Ableton Live masterclass with Sweatson Klank (aka PBLA expert instructor Tom Wilson) and acclaimed producer Mark De Clive-Lowe wowed us all with his live Komplete Kontrol performance.
Our ‘Business Behind the Music’ panel hosted by LA Head of School Jesse Rogg went down a treat too, where he was joined by Passion Pit’s Ian Hultquist, Iamsound Records’ Paul Tao and Wade Metzler from SoundExchange for some highly informative chat.
There was a queue round the block at the PBLA launch, with everyone eager to check out our brand new school
The week of our launch also happened to coincide with the Oscars award ceremony, so when we’d wrapped up at PBLA we headed over to Elton John’s party. To our delight, we got to witness Elton being joined on stage by the legendary Nile Rodgers of Chic, and as you can see from the image below it was quite a spectacle!
