Last month, we announced that we would be making our way to the US to attend the annual Miami Music Week Winter Music Conference 2019. Now, we are excited to show you exactly what we got up to whilst we were there; from interviewing legendary DJs and producers to sitting in on thought-provoking panels, hosting our own beat-making sessions and of course checking out the epic parties on offer, we well and truly got stuck into the MMW experience. If you’d like to take steps to become an artist yourself, whether it be learning to produce killer beats or spin records like a pro, we have a range of courses which can help develop your skills.
During our trip to MMW we caught up with Ferry Corsten to talk about his venture into scoring for cinema, as well as the Missy Elliot and Timbaland remixer, Yves V, about DJing at Tomorrowland and collaborating on tracks. We sat in on the incredible panels the event had to offer including the Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Nicole Moudaber, Christian Smith and Valerie Lee-fronted Techno Evolution discussion, which explored the future of the electronic music scene. For those of you who love quick tips, we asked a number of DJs, producers and musicians what advice they would give their younger selves if they could go back in time – keep an eye out for our One Tip series coming soon and see what Roger Sanchez had to say above.
If you’d like the option to attend some of our exclusive events such as panels, masterclasses and more, why not enrol on a pointblank course?
