elrow Up and Coming Talent Show x Point Blank Music School (Link)
Point Blank alumni, Florentia Stassi, wowed the elrow team and won their inaugural Up & Coming Talent competition, granting her status as an official elrow resident DJ. The following year, two Point Blank students, Kodewerk and Fifi Forte made it to the final 10 and as a result, were flown to Spain to play in top clubs across the country as part of their final challenge. Following that success, Point Blank has teamed up with elrow again as an official education partner to help provide a shortlist of finalists for this year’s iteration.
To enter, link one of your selected mixes and complete the form here. Mixes will be judged based on technical ability and also track selection. Please adhere to elrow’s typical music style ie. house, techno, and tech house. Entries close Sunday 4th of August and Point Blank students who have been selected for the next phase will be contacted by 6th of August and will be asked to complete an additional form by 8th of August. This competition is open to all current London, LA, Ibiza and Online students.
NOTE: Even if you have already entered the competition through the official website, please fill out this form as Point Blank students get additional consideration due to Point Blank being an educational partners.
Collide DJ Competition x Point Blank Music School (Link)
Current school student Patrick Serhal has co-founded a new international event series and is giving two students a chance to DJ at an exclusive rooftop party on Saturday 10th August 2024. The upcoming debut London offering, on Saturday 3rd August, welcomes Innervisions’ artists Yet More and Auggie, alongside K.eem and Patrick himself. Taking place at the intimate B Club in South Kensington, the night is a must for lovers of deeper sounds within the electronic music sphere, sprinkled with plenty of vibrant melodies throughout.
The two winners of the competition will each have a one-hour DJ slot at Collide’s secret party. Not only will the winners be able to showcase their musical talents, but they’ll also have the chance to meet professionals within the industry.
To enter, submit a 30-minute melodic house/afro house/deep house-focused mix here by the 3rd of August. The two winners will be announced on 7 August 2024.
Ministry of Sound x Point Blank Music School (Link)
We’ve partnered up with Deep Delay Management for one student to open up at the Ministry of Sound in The 103 on the 20th of September. Deep Delay is looking for a student to play an opening set (1 hour) for a tech house night.
To enter, send us your mix here and we’ll pick the winner with Deep Delay. This can be any mix you’ve done recently or made specifically for this competition but please consider appropriate music for the genre and time ie. opening set (chill, more relaxed tech house vibes). Mix can be submitted as audio or video on any platform eg. Dropbox, Google Drive, Soundcloud, Mixcloud etc. Entries close on the 9th of September and the winner is announced on the 13th of September. The winner will perform at the Ministry of Sound on the 20th of September featuring Cosmic Gate and Will Atkinson and receive a set fee of £200. It’s open to all existing London students and the winner will be notified by email.
