On the evening of 16 January 2025, our Penn St campus in London came alive with the vibrant sounds and energy of the pointblank Recordings (PBR) Showcase. This exclusive event, open only to current students, featured performances from our talented PBR artists and competition winners—all of whom are also students at pointblank Music School. If you are a student in our Music Production and Vocal Performance degree, this is a perfect fit for you. A chance for you to sing on our hub stage as well as connect with other artists/producers for collaboration.
The evening was thoughtfully structured to maximise engagement and connection. We kicked things off with a networking session, allowing students to mingle, share ideas, and make meaningful connections. This was followed by an insightful panel session where we met the PBR team. They introduced themselves, explained their roles within the team, and shared valuable advice on navigating the music industry.
After the panel, the spotlight turned to our artists, who delivered outstanding performances that showcased the diverse talent within our community. This included PBR artists, Sam The Zoologist (if you’d like to read more about him, take a look at his student success blog here) and Leah Haworth (read about her chart-hitting collaboration with Sam here). We also want to give a shoutout to our performers, DJs, and host! Your performance was incredible, and we loved your stage presence!
The showcase was more than just a night of great music; it was a hub of connection and collaboration. Students had the invaluable opportunity to engage with lecturers, mentors, and the PBR team, gaining insights and advice to help them on their musical journeys. Equally inspiring was the sense of community as students connected, sparking new friendships and the start of exciting collaborative projects.
