Last month, pointblank headed out to Malta to lead a range of masterclasses and workshops as the official education partner for IMS College. In addition to hosting masterclasses with French composer Agoria and Spanish DJ/Producer Uner, pointblank personnel also held a mixing masterclass mixing whilst Course Developer Ski Oakenfull led a track deconstruction workshop, breaking down Jamiroquai’s ‘Automaton’, which you can now view below. Make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel to keep updated with the future artist masterclasses and tutorials.
IMS College in Malta comprised of a series of carefully curated panels, keynotes, networking sessions and workshops from music industry figureheads, providing attendees with a rare insight into every aspect of the electronic music industry from the creative process to business management, covering radio, production, management, PR, live bookings, trade organisations and much more. Over the weekend there were also special performances from some of the world’s best artists, including Sven Vath (Cocoon), DJ Agoria, Todd Terry and Richy Ahmed (Hot Creations).
Along with Ski’s deconstruction, pointblank’s contribution to the opening day’s programme included a masterclass with DJ/Producer Uner looking at creativity and songwriting, together with a session exploring music production for film with French composer Agoria.
