We were treated to a fantastic performance from PB student and Maschine wizard Bas de Vries recently, wowing his classmates with this live performance of his rework of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Nina’. This performance is one of the practical assignments that students complete during their time at pointblank, and is part of the Electronic Music Performance module in our BA (Hons) Music Production & Sound Engineering Degree. Maschine is an incredibly powerful tool, one we’re continually amazed by, and its always inspiring to see someone get so much out of it. If you want to learn how to use one, check out our NI Maschine course, which is also a module in our brand new BA (Hons) Music Production & DJ Practice Degree.
Since it was released toward the end of last year, we haven’t been able to get enough of the Maschine MK 3, even releasing a pair of videos exploring how to use the unit to sketch out ideas as well as how to create evolving sounds and effects, and we recently welcomed Radio 1 legend Pete Tong to our London school for his own crash course. As for Bas de Vries, you can check out mastered version of the track performed above at his SoundCloud, and follow him on Instagram.
