We at Point Blank are delighted to have been held up as an outstanding example of an high quality educational institution by Lords Spokesman of the House of Lords at the recent Independent Higher Education (iHE) Conference. Point Blank came to the attention of Viscount James Younger of Leckie as a result of our 100% student satisfaction rating in the recent National Student Survey, which was the joint highest across all institutions. We were one of only three institutions mentioned during his speech, in which Point Blank was highlighted as a example of an exceptional independent Higher Education provider in the UK, shown in the video below from 7 minutes.
As part of his keynote speech, the Viscount singled Point Blank out by name, saying: “Newer, smaller, and specialist providers can drive innovation, offering courses and delivery models that suit the needs and aspirations of a more diverse student body and provides employers with enough of the right graduates. We have excellent examples amongst us today… [including] Point Blank Music School, voted the world’s ‘Best Music Production & DJ School’, [which] provides students with the unique opportunity to study with expert instructors at state-of-the-art facilities in the creative process of making music.”
In addition to this high praise, our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) was also recognised as a point of excellence, with Point Blank receiving an award for Innovation in Digital Teaching and Learning. This unique and innovative platform is the medium through which all of our online students learn at Point Blank – including our online BA (Hons) in Music Production & Sound Engineering degree – and is also available to students of our Degree programme in London as an additional learning resource.
