Top Australian DJ and Vlogger DJ Ravine has officially joined Point Blank to study in London! Known for his top mixes and instructional videos that he shares with his legions of subscribers on YouTube, Ravine was keen to learn more about how to start making his own tracks, and decided to make the trip to study Introduction to Music Production, Music Composition and Sound Engineering with Point Blank at our school in London. Ravine will be vlogging his experiences on the course every week, starting with his very first week which you can check out below.
In week one of his vlog, DJ Ravine give us a lowdown of his first experience of the UK since landing in London. He also gives us a peak of his production skills as he starts out his study with PB, and grabs some time to sit down with his London instructors which include Ableton Certified Trainer Thomas Glendinning and Sound Engineering instructor Anthony Chapman (Franz Ferdinand, Klaxons). For those looking to get an insight of some of the course content, Ravine also gives a micro-tutorial of some of the Ableton basics – something which is covered in week one of the course in London and online. You can also check out a beginner’s guide to making a track in Ableton below, featuring DJ Ravine and PB expert instructor Saytek.
