Once again we are happy to announce that we will be teaming up with Ableton for the first part of their educational tour. The event is slated to take place this November and will see us joined by Manchester-based composer, producer and DJ, Afrodeutsche, for an Ableton Masterclass where she will provide an in-depth look into her writing process, Ableton Live workflow and how she uses Live on stage during performances. In addition to this we will also be hosting an introduction to Ableton 10’s Max for Live. This will be presented by the music technology giant’s certified trainer, Marcello Ruggiu, and will delve into how Max for Live can inspire new ideas and take existing ones to entirely new places. If you’re interested in furthering your knowledge of music production, Ableton Live and more, we offer online courses which will get you up to scratch.
The November masterclasses, which will be held at our London studios on Penn Street, are open to all students and graduates but make sure you reserve your spot soon as they’re likely to go quickly. RSVP to nina@pointblankmusicschool.com to secure your place.

Afrodeutsche
Sparked by her passion for techno music, Afrodeutsche, real name Henrietta Smith-Rolla, began producing electronic music in 2007. Since then she has signed with Skam Records and performed alongside Carl Craig at Pikes, Ibiza. Her beats are sharp and minimal as she fuses a range of melodic elements into her evolving soundscapes. Back in June she dropped her experimental record, Break Before Make, via the Skam imprint.
Marcello Ruggiu
Ableton’s Marcello Ruggiu kicked off his career in music after studying audio engineering in Milan. He discovered Live and began using it to play out on the local club circuit and now, as an official Live instructor, teaches others to use the software and more. Ruggiu has many years of experience under his belt as well as a wealth of knowledge in the field of electronic music.
Last year we collaborated with Ableton and WhoSampled for Samplethon 2017 – a competitive event where a number of talented beat-makers went head to head to create the tightest track against the clock. Check out our video from the event here and see who our panel of expert industry judges crowned as the winner.
