Whether it was breaking down their tracks, showing us their favourite plugins and workflow tips, or just shadowing them whilst they built a beat, 2018 has undoubtedly been one of our most diverse years for masterclasses. Watch a Masterclass on Making a Synth Lead in Sylenth1 with Stonebank (Monstercat)

It’s more than likely that if you read our blog frequently you’ll be familiar with either Sylenth1, Stonebank or Monstercat. Stonebank’s masterclass has a special focus on the aforementioned VST, Sylenth1, and sees the happy-hardcore enthusiast run through how to build an epic three-part layered lead sound for your tracks.

Ferry Corsten is somewhat of a legend in the trance scene and this year showed us exactly why that is. Joining us for a masterclass, the DJ and producer took aim at his track ‘Rosetta’ which is lifted from his most recent charity project, Unity, which features collabs with BT, Alpha 9, Gareth Emery and Marcus Shultz. Jordan Suckley – C.Y.M Track Breakdown (Who’s Afraid of 138?!)

Former Radio 1 DJ and tech-trance producer Jordan Suckley has travelled the world off the back of his musical talents. He’s a wiz at making euphoric and breakdowns filled with emotional synth melodies and more and during his masterclass, he really got into the thick of his processes. Laying bare his 120 channel track, most of which being effects, the In New Music We Trust 2012 host shows us just how he makes the magic he’s renowned for.
