TNGHT – BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix
Seven years ago Hudson Mohawke and Lunice’s trap outfit, TNGHT, rose to fame with their breakout EP of the same name. Most notably it included the tracks ‘Higher Ground’ and ‘Goooo’ which resulted in the pair playing a number of big shows as TNGHT and spawning an army of copy cat acts before eventually refocussing on their own personal projects – until now. Earlier this month they returned with a BBC Radio 1 Essential mix which is packed with brand spanking new TNGHT anthems, including the recently released tribal-infused track ‘Serpent’. In addition to this, the mix features lots of new music and unheard edits from affiliates such as Rustie, Koreless, S-Type, Inkke and more.
Mechatok – Fact Mix 732
Berlin-based Mechatok is best known for his contributions to the world of left-field minimalistic pop music having released on Presto!?, Staycore and Year0001. Shimmering synth-lines and fun club grooves are his forte and although that’s represented in his mix for FACT Magazine, he’s stepped in a slightly different direction for this one laying down a high octane minimalist selection featuring tracks from MJ Cole, Siriusmo, Young P and plenty of untitled tracks of his own.
Joe – DJ Mag On Cue
In the latest in DJ Mag’s On Cue flagship mix series Hessle Audio producer Joe steps up to the plate to deliver a fusion of dreamy percussive jams and forward-thinking disco tracks. In addition to his work with Hessle Audio, the UK-based producer has released with the likes of Hemlock Recordings, Text Records and Apple Pips and continues to push the boundaries of a range of electronic genres.
