We’re excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with Ministry of Sound, for a brand new series in which the super talented Point Blank lecturer, Mel Uye-Parker, shows how you can make a track in lockdown using only the objects you have lying around the house.
Each found-sounds-focussed episode will feature a new special guest whose task it is to create their own Lockdown Beat. In this first episode, Mel is joined by the SNATCH! Records head honcho, Riva Starr. East London’s Riva Starr has released music on influential imprints such as Defected Records, Dirtybird, Strictly Rhythm and more and has played at the likes of Egg London, Space Ibiza, Pacha, Fabric, and of course, Ministry of Sound. Tune in below.
In addition to being a Point Blank lecturer, Mel Uye-Parker is a highly qualified Ableton Certified Trainer, producer and performer. She’s been making music since 2006 as a vocalist and songwriter and has collaborated with the likes of Rae & Christian and Yesking and, more recently, produces under the moniker, Mjiri.
If you’d like to learn how to create your own tracks using found sounds with Mel, master the ins and outs of music production, become a DJ, or break ground in the management side of the industry, you can with Point Blank in London, Los Angeles and online. Plus, we’re currently offering 25% off our selected online and Los Angeles courses until 31st March using the codes ONLINE25 and LA25 when enrolling – so there’s no better time to sign up than now.
