First Look: Pioneer DJ DDJ-1000SRT Overview

Pioneer DJ have just unveiled the brand new addition to their DDJ controller family, the Pioneer DJ DDJ-1000SRT, and prior to its release, we were given one of the consoles to test out and explore the new features. Aside from the Serato-compatible controller’s stylish LCD jog wheel displays, heavy-weight CDJ plates and Pioneer DJ standard effects controls, it has a great deal to offer. The DDJ-1000SRT includes a variety of new tactile features which are both advantageous and incredibly fun to use such as the Beat Jump function, auto key matching and Serato Sampler to name a few.

During the video, DJ Ravine and Ben Bristow, our DJ Module Leader, take a look at the DDJ-100SRT’s handy Beat Jump function which helps you effortlessly skip through beats in bars and phrases at the push of a button. They delve into the key sync feature which, if you’ve enabled the pitch and time plugin in Serato, allows you to auto Key Match your tracks and make your mixes more harmonic. In addition to exploring the mixer effects and inputs/outputs, they demonstrate exactly why these new jog wheel screens are a fantastic addition.
