Somewhere in the Czech Republic, two men and a bear are on a quest. Their mission is to ensure that house music never dies. Under the name Fake Bear, DJs-turned-producers Ondrej and Petr today release their first track on Point Blank Music.

The latest release on Point Blank’s in-house record label is a new single from Fake Bear
‘Get Down’ is not just a call to the floor you should be dancing on; it is the celebration of a lifestyle filled with positive vibes and love for House in all its variants. The bear may be fake but the beats are real. Describing how they met, Ondrej said: “We’ve known each other for about 11 years. Petr was the first person who gave me the chance to learn mixing and to play in a club.”
Taking up the story’s thread, Petr added: “From there we started to organise parties in local clubs and bars. For most of that time we played separately but we always enjoyed playing back to back sets together, so about two and half years ago we decided to start our new project Fake Bear.”
Ondrej and Petr, who both took to the decks at 15, perform regularly all over the north-eastern part of their home country, but always leave their furry friend at home.
Petr said: “We don’t take the bear to our gigs because he’s an unstoppable animal when he’s been drinking. He is more like a studio mascot for us.” The pair list Roger Sanchez, Umek, Paul Kalkbrenner, Daft Punk, Disclosure and Chromeo as their musical heroes but for them there is one clear king of the DJ castle.
Ondrej said: “I think we both agree on the fact that our DJ hero is Carl Cox. We’ve been listening to his mixes for about 15 years now and he never disappoints.”
