Following last year’s outstanding result of scoring 100% student satisfaction in the National Student Survey results, we had set ourselves a very hard target to match. However, the 2018 NSS results are now in and Point Blank has once again achieved top ranking across all music and music production-focused institutions, with 91% of our students being satisfied with their overall experience, versus the 74% average score across UK Music courses.
The NSS gathers student opinion about Higher Education courses, which includes our BA (Hons) Music Production & Sound Engineering degree offered in London and as an online degree, both of which are validated by Middlesex University. The survey is designed to give students an opportunity to give feedback on the institutions they are studying at, providing prospective students with honest data to assist them in making an informed decision when selecting where to study.
Point Blank significantly outperformed the sector benchmark for overall satisfaction
In addition to overall satisfaction, we also received 90%+ scores in a broad range of areas including teaching quality, student opportunities, access to support staff and opportunities for course feedback. In fact, Point Blank performed well above the average across music courses in every category of question, scoring 88% in Teaching, 85% in Academic Support, 82% in Learning Opportunities, 81% in Organisation & Management, 80% in Learning Resources and 77% in Student Voice.
