Point Blank’s Inaugural Group of Degree Students Graduate at Middlesex University

A year on from the launch of our first BA (Hons) degree programme, the first batch of students have successfully graduated with honours! The graduates from the BA (Hons) in Music Production and Sound Engineering, as well as a host of other accredited courses including the Radio Broadcasting Diploma, attended a ceremony at the Middlesex University campus to celebrate their success. Watch the video below to get a flavour of the day, and check out some photos and quotes from the afternoon.

Our Content Creator Stanley Li tagged along on the day and produced this video, which we think captured the spirit of excitement and celebration nicely. ceremony

Alan Turnbull (BA (Hons) Music Production and Sound Engineering Online) – “[To graduate] feels absolutely amazing. Studying online was really good too, I enjoyed all the interaction that we had with the VLE and the instructors.

“After graduating, I’m planning on continuing the record label that we started, myself and Mike Coughlan, another online student. We’re doing a podcast for it and I have an EP coming out in a couple of months.”

Leicester Jose Gomindes (BA (Hons) Music Production and Sound Engineering) – “It feels amazing to have graduated. I joined Point Blank hoping to get a diploma and then you guys started the degree course. I opted for that and I feel amazing that I’ve reached this point.

Now that I’ve graduated I want to work in music, I want to get into film and TV production. I never knew this was a possibility before I joined Point Blank but it opened up a lot more options for me.

“The highlights of my studies were the tutors. The amount of knowledge that they have and the experiences they shared were amazing.”

Piyush Nigam (CertHE Music Production and Sound Engineering) – “It has been a phenomenal journey at Point Blank – the best years of my life. I’m really happy to be a part of it.

“My favourite thing about my mentors was their experience in the industry. It really helped me understand the whole industry aspect and what is possible.”

Emily Hobbs (CertHE Radio Broadcasting) – “Graduating feels unreal really. I finally got here. On the radio course, I really liked all the opportunities we had. There were lots of chances to make friends and go out to different stations like the BBC.

“I’ve currently moved back home to Bournemouth and I work for Capital FM on the promotional team. I’m slowly working my way to be on the air but it’s a start.”
