3 DJ Mixes You Need to Hear This Month: February (Ross From Friends, Arca & Swimful)

Welcome to our roundup of mixes you need to hear this month where we spotlight some of the best that electronic music has to offer in the form of forward-thinking track selections, pure club annihilation and new unreleased cuts from our favourite artists. In this month’s instalment, we celebrate Ross From Friends’ On Cue mix for DJ Mag, the return of Arca with her brand new hourlong project and the first instalment of SVBKVLT’s MIX residency with Crack Magazine.

If you’re looking to learn the ins and outs of DJing and create your own DJ mixes, we can help. We offer a number of courses focussed on just this so If you’d like to check out our DJ courses and find out which one’s best suited to you, head here.

Ross From Friends – DJ Mag On Cue

In the latest in DJ Mag’s On Cue flagship mix series the Brainfeeder affiliate, Ross From Friends, stepped up to deliver a selection of rave ready tracks. The mix was recorded live during his residency at Phonox and features some classic jungle, dubstep and house tracks. In addition to his mix, the producer and DJ spoke to DJ Mag about his early productions, finding his place as a DJ and working on his album. Check that out here.

Arca – @@@@@

Arca has returned with over 60 minutes of brand new music. The new project, titled @@@@@ arrived in a cross broadcast with NTS Radio and features an array of disjointed experimental tracks which, as is tradition with Arca, push the boundaries of what’s expected from the club. @@@@@ features its own stellar posthuman-style visuals which accompany the rich tapestry of sounds.

SVBKVLT #1: Swimful

The Shanghai-based SVBKVLT label recently joined CRACK Magazine’s lineup of resident DJs. Their first mix sets the standard of what’s to come with Swimful stepping up to deliver an hour of moody club cuts and grinding metal anthems glued together with some grime and UK drill.
