First Look: Waves Audio StudioRack w/ Jan Kybert

The world-leading audio plugin manufacturers Waves Audio have just unleashed their brand new game-changer, StudioRack.

StudioRack was designed with experimentation in mind. The new free plugin from Waves Audio allows you to create your own personalised sounds and effects by chaining up to 8 different plugins together in a single place. This is just the tip of the iceberg, however, as StudioRack includes a number of additional powerhouse features such as Parallel Processing Racks, which will allow you to split audio from any point in the chain without having to create complex routings, Multiband Split Racks, which can turn any Waves plugin into a multiband processor including classic vintage emulation such as the Fairchild compressor and Macros which enable you to combine parameters from different plugins in your chain into quick-access macro controls – essentially allowing you to create your own plugins.

To get a closer look at the newly revamped Waves Audio StudioRack, we teamed up with Jan Kybert, an industry professional mix engineer (and Point Blank’s Art of Mixing instructor) who has worked with the likes of Paul Weller, Olly Murs, Oasis, The Prodigy, Madonna, Massive Attack and many more. Below, see StudioRack in action and for more, you can check out our previous live stream focussed on the new free plugin.

Last year we partnered with Waves Audio to better help provide our students with the best music production tech the industry has to offer – now giving them a 35% discount on Waves Audio products.

Waves Audio plugins are used by the entire industry over on hit records, major motion pictures and popular video games worldwide and have been championed by the likes of Drake’s producer, Noah ’40’ Shebib, Beyoncé and Pharrell’s Mix Engineer, Leslie Brathwaite, Adele’s Mix Engineer, Tom Elmhirst and many more.
