Their unique sound didn’t go unnoticed, as they soon attracted collaborations with iconic names such as Jason Derulo, Marshmello, and Demi Lovato.
The duo first joined TikTok in the early days of the platform, before “TikTok fame” was even a concept. Through trial and error, they gradually figured out how to create shareable content that tapped into pop culture trends and built momentum on TikTok.
Some of their biggest early lessons included keeping videos extremely concise, utilizing viral sounds, collaborating with big names, cross-promoting through other platforms like YouTube, and having a consistent series that’s easy to replicate. By remixing nostalgic audio clips into short, catchy songs, they consistently churned out TikTok hits.
The tipping point was their smash “Jiggle Jiggle,” a comical auto-tuned remix of Louis Theroux’s rap that sparked a viral dance challenge. The song blew up on TikTok before making its way to radio, TV, and the top of the charts. This runaway hit proved they could transition their TikTok followers into fans of their original dance music.
