Student Opportunities: AVA Festival

We strive to give our students and alumni unique opportunities to get involved within the music industry. These come exclusively from our extensive network of industry contacts and can range from DJ performance to internships and paid roles too. AVA Emerging Talent Competition

AVA Festival & Conference is holding competitions for emerging Producers and DJs based across the UK & Ireland.

Emerging DJ

The emerging DJ contest requires applicants to submit a 30-minute mini mix showcasing their skills, with the three finalists performing in a live final battle at Belfast Underground Records. The full criteria for application is as follows:

  • Must not have been a previous/current resident DJ.
  • Entrants must be from Ireland & UK
  • Entry can be any style of electronic music.
  • Entry to be 320kbps & mp3 format
  • 30 minute mix maximum.
  • If shortlisted, finalists responsible for organising travel to live final and winner to AVA Festival.
  • Submissions will be made to Hiive with the heading ‘AVA Emerging Artist Mix – (Your Name)’ by Friday 5th May 2016.
  • Entrants must create a Hiive.co.uk account to submit.

Winners will perform at AVA Festival 2017 and be featured on Belfast Underground Radio. Entries must be submitted by May 5th. Apply here.

Emerging Producer

The criteria for applicants hoping to win the Emerging Producer competition are:

  • The producer must not have had a previous release.
  • Entrants must be from Ireland & UK
  • Entry can be any style of electronic music.
  • 1 track per entry.
  • Entry to be 320kbps & mp3 format
  • Submissions will be made to Hiive.com with the heading ‘AVA Emerging Artist Track – (Your Name)’ by Friday 5th May 2016.
  • If shortlisted, finalists responsible for organising travel to final at AVA Conference.
  • Entrants must create a Hiive.co.uk account to submit.

The winner will feature on Extended Play, BBC Across The Line and the Feel My Bicep blog, as well as receiving support and mentoring from Native Instruments, JMX & T-BONE. Entries must be submitted by May 5th. Apply Here.
